However, if you are looking to rent for business purposes it offers an easy 36-minute car commute to Glasgow and just over an hour's car ride to Edinburgh. If you prefer to travel by train, then rail services to Edinburgh and Glasgow are just a few miles away at Lanark or Carstairs

The house has a well-equipped kitchen in which four people can comfortably eat. There is a microwave oven, toaster, washing machine and cooker. Everything you need for an extended stay!

The house has Wi-Fi and a High-Definition Flat Panel TV with access to pay per view movies and Freeview TV. All can be watched in comfort as the sitting room has a large three-seater sofa and a separate, matching, armchair. The bathroom has a modern corner shower and a basin and toilet, all recently updated.

Things to do.

Never been to South Lanarkshire before, you’re in for a treat?! If you love green rolling hills, traditional Scottish stone villages and open water, this is the place for you!

The charming villages and towns of Lanark, Biggar and Douglas all provide that traditional village feel, with a good array of cafes, pubs, and shops to explore. Walks along the Douglas Water River can be taken, and you can walk around the large open water lakes at Douglas itself.

You can find out about Scotland’s history by visiting Douglas Castle or New Lanark, an 18th century Cotton Spinning Mill Village built on the banks of the Falls of Clyde. a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which sees over 300,00 visitors a year. More history can be uncovered at Biggar and Upper Clydesdale Museum and Biggar Gasworks Museum, both obtaining great reviews from past visitors.

 

For those of you who enjoy golf, you can book rounds at Douglas Water Golf Club, Lanark Golf Club, Hollandbush or Biggar Golf Club.

If you enjoy rummaging around antique shops and centres there is plenty to find at Clyde Valley Antiques Centre, Garrion Bridges Garden and Antiques Centre or Aklea Antiques Collectables.

You can book a wonderful meal at Cornhill Castle and enjoy the fabulous décor and surroundings the castle provides. Other restaurants, such as Ristorante La Vigna (Italian), Spice of Life (Indian), Prego (Modern Italian), The Woodpecker Bar and Restaurant and Stables Bistro, can all be found in Lanark and Douglas.
