Never been to South Lanarkshire before, you’re in for a treat?! If you love green rolling hills, traditional Scottish stone villages and open water, this is the place for you!
The charming villages and towns of Lanark, Biggar and Douglas all provide that traditional village feel, with a good array of cafes, pubs, and shops to explore. Walks along the Douglas Water River can be taken, and you can walk around the large open water lakes at Douglas itself.
You can find out about Scotland’s history by visiting Douglas Castle or New Lanark, an 18th century Cotton Spinning Mill Village built on the banks of the Falls of Clyde. a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which sees over 300,00 visitors a year.
