Whether you're looking for an outdoor adventure or a relaxing day out, there are plenty of things to do in and around Alloa.

If you love the countryside and long walks then Clackmannanshire, and Alloa itself, is home to many wonderful landmarks that are a tribute to its mining history, one of the most impressive being Gartmorn Dam. Located in the 370 acre Gartmorn Country Park and Nature Reserve, it is a great spot for outdoor activities and sightseeing.

The Sauchie mines of 6th Earl of Mar, Sir John Erskine, were drained by the pumps which were powered by the 170 acre reservoir that he had engineered. This water power triggered Alloa's industrial advancement and made it a milestone in its history. The reservoir and park are well worth a visit for a refreshing outdoor stroll.

There's also the Tullibody Heritage Centre, full of objects and curios from Alloa's cultural past, The Andy Scott Sculptural Trail, and The Alloa Swing Bridge, all make great days out.

Within an easy walk of Tower Square House are some great places to eat and drink. We can recommend Bar Aldo's Restuarant, an authentic taste of Italy. The Syriana restaurant, which serves home-made middle eastern dishes that are stupendous, and, if you prefer Indian food, Shaans Tandoori gets great local reviews.
Great pubs and bars are: The Old Brewery, Bobbing John, The Royal Oak, and something a bit unusual, Cramms Bar "more like a shared living room".

All come with a warm welcome to Alloa!
